Responsible for allowing solid colors to be expressed in the dominant form of the allele. In its homozygous recessive form, it allows the agouti colors to be expressed.

Test Results:

Possible Genotypes:
K BK B – 2 copies of the dominant allele – cannot express agouti colors
K Bk y – 1 copy of the dominant allele and 1 recessive allele – cannot express agouti colors, but can pass the recessive K to offspring
k yk y – 2 copies of the recessive allele – can express agouti colors, unless masked by another gene
